MEET THE AUTHOR

The 4000 Year Journey in Search of Peace was presented by author Danny Taran on October 26, 2008.

The story of the Jewish people covers almost 4,000 years of history. It chronicles triumphs, defeats, sadness, and joy, bound by religious belief and cultural traditions. Above all, it is a history to be proud of and to honor. Despite adversity and continued persecution, the Jewish people have not only survived, but have thrived and continue to contribute to every field of human endeavor.

In this book, their history has been recorded by artistic portrayals ranging from paintings of the great masters in European art to candid photographs from the nineteenth century to the present day.

Drawing from sources in archives, museums, newspapers, and personal collections, Danny Taran has compiled a record of Jewish history from biblical days, to life in the Diaspora, through pogroms and the horrors of the Holocaust, to modern times.

Above all, the book captures the spirit, the determination, and the achievements of a people who have struggled for survival and have succeeded.
