Unveiling plans to build first bilingual Holocaust Museum in North America

The South Florida Holocaust Documentation and Education Center (HDEC) will host a campaign kick-off and 30th Anniversary luncheon where plans for the first English/Spanish Holocaust Museum in North America will be unveiled.

The event is January 31 aboard Royal Caribbean International's Independence of the Seas with special guests Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Emcee David Lawrence Jr., President of the Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, Academy Award winner Gerda Weissmann Klein, and Patrick Gallagher, President of Gallagher and Associates Design Firm who will design the Museum.

"The support from this event will help build the first South Florida Holocaust Museum and the only in Spanish and English in North America. This Museum will endow within our borders and beyond a Legacy of Remembrance, Hope, and Promise for all our children, regardless of race, color, and creed. For three decades, the Center has aggressively confronted hatred, prejudice, and violence, but we need to do more. Given our global and national challenges, building this museum could not be more timely and urgent," says Rositta Kenigsberg, Executive VP of the HDEC.
